FUNDESTEAM is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to the promotion and development of the education of young people in Latin America in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). To do this, it uses innovative educational programs for students and teachers, promotes creative ideas, and fosters life skills such as self-confidence, resilience, boldness, and leadership.

Since 2014, FUNDESTEAM, with the support of public and private partners, has promoted the improvement of the quality of education and the well-being of thousands of students in situations of social vulnerability.

ABOUT OUR 
PROGRAMS

The STEAM methodology is the basis of our programs through Project-Based Learning (PBL) and problem solving with gamification, using Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics in a transversal way.

TEACHER TRAINING

Our training programs for teachers seek to strengthen their pedagogical competencies, through the STEAM methodology with an emphasis on Educational Robotics.

STEAM LABORATORIES

The general objective of this program is focused on improving the quality of education in oficial educational centers, Infoplazas(*) and Professional and Technical Institutes (IPTs), through the provision of Educational Robotics and STEAM equipment.

STEAM GIRLS 360°

This program is aimed at girls between 8 and 18 years old and seeks to reduce the digital gender gap, training participants in STEAM education with an emphasis on technology, programming, and robotics with a strong soft skills component that foster resilience, perseverance, and discernment in their daily lives.

STEAM TRAINING / ACTIVITIES

FUNDESTEAM's Clubhouse Corner is a free space aimed at young people from 12 to 18 years old in the Curundu area in vulnerable situations. They are trained with workshops on robotics, computer maintenance and repair, programming, and video game creation and editing

STEAM PRESCHOOL

Through this program, teachers are trained to develop STEAM pedagogical competencies, integrating educational strategies adapted to the psycho-educational development of preschool students.

STEAM GENIUS

These are scholarships that are awarded to students who win the National Robot Olympiad so that they can continue their studies at distinguished universities that offer careers related to technology and innovation.

SAMSUNG INNOVATION CAMPUS (SIC)

This program is aimed at young people between 18 and 22 years old and covers knowledge in coding and programming relevant to the business and productive sector. FUNDESTEAM was selected by Samsung as the implementing organization of the SIC program since 2021, for the SELA region.

ROBOTICS TOURNAMENTS

The WRO Association (World Robot Olympiad Association) robotics tournaments are held in four different categories for students from 8 to 19 years old. The tournaments take place in phases that begin with the Regional Olympiads, from which the teams that go to the National Olympiad qualify, and from there, to the World Cup.
(*) The infoplazas are centers that provide access to internet, information, training and knowledge, aware that it is necessary for the socio-political, economic and intellectual development of a better Panama.
